DOUBLE INSULATED REVERSE CONE-RAIN CAP
Our Insulated Cone Rain Cap provides the solutions to
important problems associated with installed metal rain
caps. It eliminates flow resistance to flue gas by directing
gas flow outward in a 360° pattern. By insulating our cap
with a special Hollow Wool™ formulation, the
bottom
cone presents a hot face to flue gas eliminating
condensation problems associated with moisture laden flue
gases contacting a cold metal surface. Our design will
eliminatechimney and roof staining. If condensation is
already present due to below dew point flue gas, the reverse
cone will direct condensation down, centered into the flue. |

It seems the Achilles Heel of most factory built metal flues
is the design and
failure of their rain cap. Problems encountered in the field
are thin metal construction  of
low grade stainless alloys, galvanized metal parts, spot
welding of
key fastening points that fail quickly, restricted flow
design that ventilates poorly and builds accumulations of
soot. Sleepy Hollow is proud to offer our design to
accommodate both solid pack
and air insulated metal flues. Featuring the most
erodynamic venting design and the thickest, strongest
construction averaging 4-5 lbs. heavier than competing
